You may want to Export and ImportBudgets to or from an Excel spreadsheet. Using this function allows you to communicate budgetary information to someone who does not have Juris Suite.
Exporting a Budget to Excel
To export a budget to Excel, perform the following:
- While in the budget to export, click the Export Budget to Excel button on the Import/Export tool ribbon.
- Navigate to the location where you want to save the file using the Save As window.
- Enter a name for the spreadsheet in the File name field.
- Click the Save button when finished.
- To view the spreadsheet, navigate to the file and open it.
Import a Budget
Only GLBudgets can be imported. The import file must be an .xls file. The column names in the file must match the column names in the budget. If the names to do not match, no data will be imported. Each budget type has different column names. Be sure to familiarize yourself with each type, so that the import file contains the correct column names.
Toimport a budget from Excel, perform the following:
- Select the budget type in the Budgeting node you want to import the budget.
- Click the Import Budget from Excel button on the Import/Export tool ribbon.
- Navigate to the location of the file to be imported using the Open window.
- If the budget has the same name as a current budget, you will be prompted to provide a New Budget Name, New Budget Code and Budget Year. You can also set the flag to show or do not show the budget after importation.
- Click the OK button when you have completed the information entry.
- The budget displays in the budget listings. A message confirms the budget was imported. You can view the budget by opening it.
