To created a Timekeeper Budget:
- While in the Budgeting function, click the New Budgetbutton on the Budget tool ribbon and select New Client Matter Budget.
- Enter a Budget Name.
- Enter a Budget Code.
Your firm should establish a naming convention for budget codes. For example for this Timekeeper budget, the code could be "TKBUDJAC-09". "TK" for Timekeeper, "Bud" for Budget, "JAC" for Employee Initials and "-09" for the year
- Enter a Budget Description. This field is used for provide a quick explanation when displayed on the My Budgets listings.
- Place a check mark in the Import Actuals check box to have the General Ledger data imported during the creation of the new budget.
- Select the appropriate Timekeepers by placing a check in the check box next to the Timekeeper ID. Selecting more than one timekeeper for a budget could be useful for budgeting specific areas of the firm or having personnel grouped in teams.
- Select Additional Views by placing a check in the checkbox next to Expense View, Task View and Fee View. Each view is enabled by default.
- Of the views enabled in Step 7 above, click the correlating View in the SelectView column to make individual selections.
- Click the OK button when you have completed entering in the information and making account selections. The budget will be displayed in the grid. You can click on the plus sign next to the initials of the Timekeeper to view the view tabs. Each Timekeeper will have a separate set.
Use the Back To My Budgets button to return to the list view. You will be prompted to save any changes made.
