To simplify making edits or entries into fields for budgeting purposes when budget items will be consistently set to the same amount for each budget period, you can use the Apply Spread function.
To use Apply Spread of a Budget Account:
- While in the budget, right-click the Budget Account and select Apply Spread.
- Choose one of the five choices:
- Spread even from previous year total.
- Spread even from the first period budgeted value. Selects the first period and creates the same amount for the other periods.
- Spread even from budgeted total.
- Spread even from previous year monthly value.
- Spread even from the budgeted amount.
- Enter a Spread Amount or Percentage.
- Click the OK button.
- The changes in the budget lines will be placed within each period based on the amount and spread selected.
