Web Update and Web Connect

This area of the login screen is dedicated to pointing to services to update the Juris Suite application and the Web Connect that allows Juris Suite to work over the Internet. If you are not certain what the URL addresses are, ask your system administrator. Web Update works in conjunction with the Check for Updates. Check for Updates uses the Web Update URL to see if there are any updates to the Juris Suite application.

The Test buttons within each of the fields are for making sure the entered URLs are valid. Click the Test button to validate.

Troubleshooting the Settings

Server

While the client's Web Connect uses a local license, the Web Connect IIS site should be set up to use the server's license.

  1. On the license file share and its security permissions, give Everyone full permissions.
  2. Restart IIS.

  3. Check the registry to verify that no multiple keys of the Juris license exist. Usually the Juris license is registered at one of the following locations:

    • 32-bit (two possible locations):

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Juris\Juris\

      or

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Juris\Juris\

    • 64-bit (two possible locations):

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\Juris\Juris\

      or

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\Juris\Juris\

Client

  1. Verify that there is only one Juris license listed in license manager.
  2. Verify that the client uses a copy of the same license the server uses.
  3. If you have to use multiple license files, have Web Connect use the default Juris license.
  4. Check if the version of the Juris.Common.Security dll file in the Juris Suite installed location (for example: C:\Program Files\JurisSuite\GeneralRelease\) and in the Juris Web Connect IIS virtual root (for example: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\JurisSuiteWebConnect\) are identical.
  5. If you deployed with a license containing BI, verify that the Juris Suite Dashboard Server is functional.
