The Preview Tab is loaded by default. It allows you to change parameters associated with the previewed report and display the report after the changes. You can also export and print the final preview.
To change changes the parameters of a report, perform the following:
- Select the report you want to preview. You can accomplish this by double clicking on the report, or by highlighting the report and clicking the Preview button.
-
The Report Preview will open in a separate window with the Preview tab as the default. The Report Title is displayed at the top of the window and the Status Bar is located at the bottom of the window.
You can have more that one report open at a time. Be sure to use the title at the top of the window as a reminder.
-
The Parameters are located at the bottom portion of the window and are associated with the report. Not all parameters will be the same. Each report will contain its own unique parameters that can be changed. Parameters can vary from dates, numerical values and categories.
-
Adjusting the Parameters is simple. Depending on the Parameter, you can click on the ellipses button and select the value. Some of the parameters allow you to enter a direct numerical value. For this example, the First Day of this Accounting period will be changed.
You can change as many parameters as needed to adjust the view of the report.
- The parameter change will NOT affect the report immediately. You must use the Reload button at the top of the report to have the changes reflected in the display. You can also hit F5 on your keyboard.
- After the report reloads the new data will be displayed. Depending on the report, links may exist within the report to quickly show you details of the value being displayed. You can continue to change the parameters. Each time a change is made the Reload function must be used. When you are satisfied with the data displayed, you can finalize the report by exporting, printing, or changing the appearance. Click here to learn how.
