At times it may be necessary to make adjustments to an existing Schema. However, you cannot alter existing Schemas that come with Juris Suite. If you need to make changes to a Juris Suite schema or want to make changes to a newly created schema but keep the original, use the Copy Schema function. To copy a schema, perform the following:
-
While in the Schema snap-in, right click on the Schema you want to copy and select Copy. You can also highlight the Schema and click the Copy button in the tool bar.
-
Upon completion, the Schema list will reflect the copied addition. It will have a Copy "N" of "name of schema" label. "N" is the number of the copy as you can have more than one.
After the copy has been created, it is best practice to rename the copy to a more appropriate naming convention. A possibility is to include the change made within the schema. Use the Edit function to rename the Schema.
