You must have Administrator Privileges in Juris Suite to have access to this function.
Permissions are by default, at "not set". This is a deny setting. If a user has a permission set to 'granted' at the user level, and the user is in a group that the permission is set to 'deny', the user will NOT be able to access that function. A 'deny' at any level overrides a 'grant' permission if there is a conflict.
The User Permissions allows you to adjust permissions for various settings of Juris Suite. The permissions correlate with individual users access to functionality in Juris Suite. It is much easier to add a user to a group and allow the settings of the group to govern. The list below are some examples. Each User Permission setting has different features assigned to it.
To keep permissions simplified, use groups to govern user permissions.
Each setting functions the same in making adjustments. To change permissions, perform the following:
-
Select the User Permissions from the Juris menu item.
- Select the User you wish to adjust. Expand the user settings by clicking on the plus sign next to the user name. The display pane will show you the features you can adjust.
- Select the function you want to change.
- Using the down arrow next to the feature, make your appropriate selection. Do this for each permission and each feature you want to adjust.
-
Click the Close button when you are done.
To speed up a the Granting, Denying and Unset functions, use the Grant All, Deny All and Unset All buttons at the top to apply the same permission to all of the features of a section.
There is also an extended set of functions available for the User Permissions. You can select a function or group of functions and copy them to another user(s). This greatly simplifies the process of making changes to more than one user at a time. To copy amended permissions to another user, perform the following:
- Select the user you want to copy and expand the modules underneath the name.
- Select the module. The permissions will be displayed. From here you can perform three types of copy:
- Copy - allows you to copy a single permission in a module. If you select this function, the setting name will be reflected in the user selection window.
- Copy Module - allows you to copy the entire module. If you select this function, the module name will be reflected in the user selection window.
- Copy All - allows you to copy ALL of the module permissions. If you select this function, the all settings will be reflected in the user selection window.
-
Select the users that will receive the copied settings or modules from the user window. You can use the blue arrows to move/remove the user selections. The double blue arrows are to move all users back and forth for selection.
-
Click the OK button to commit the copy.
You can verify that the permissions copied by looking at the users that you copied to. open up their settings and review the changes made.
