When you create an alert, you must save it to retain the changes. To save an Alert or Alert Template, click on the Save button on the Edit tool ribbon.
It is best practice to Save the Alert/Template after each change made.
If you have no longer need an Alert or Alert Template, select the Alert/Template and click the Delete button on the Edit tool ribbon.
An easy way to make variations of an Alert or Alert Template is to use the Copy function. Select the appropriate Alert or Template to be copied and click the Copy button on the Edit tool ribbon. This will immediately place a copy of the Alert/Template and place a numerical value after it that reflects the number of the copy. This number increments with each copy made.
