There are several ways to create a Time Entry in Juris Suite. It is also important to understand how Time Entry works. Click here to learn more about Time Entry workflow. You can create a Time Entry by the following methods:
Grid View
The fields shown in this view are customizable. By creating a Layout, you can define which fields are shown, and the order in which they are listed.
By default, the Time Entry List/Grid View contains a spreadsheet list at the top and an anchored Slip Form at the bottom. Select the entry from within the Time Entry List (Grid View) shown above the Time Entry form. The information in that entry will be displayed in the Time Entry form below. The anchored Slip Form at the bottom may be minimized, so if this form is not visible, drag and drop the form's top edge to increase it's size so it may be seen, if desired.
You can double click in a cell on the Grid view and make edits without it opening a form view of the Time Entry.
Users may enter time by typing the values directly in the next blank row of the spreadsheet. If your firm uses Juris Text Codes - you can expand the text from the text code shortcut using the Ctrl+Spacebar keys.
To create a Time Entry using the Grid View, perform the following:
- Click the Grid button from the Display tool ribbon.
- Click inside the Quick Entry Layout and begin entering data.
Tip: Use the ellipses button in the fields to select the appropriate data. As you become more familiar with codes, clientnumbers, etc, you can just enter them directly without having to look them up.
- If you have the Editor function enabled, the fields will be populated automatically. However, you may experience that the fields in the Grid view do not correlate with those in the Editor. You may need to use the Column Chooser to add the necessary columns to reflect the fields in the editor.
Once you have completed entering the necessary fields, the TimeSheet is ready for submission. Click here to learn how to Submit a Time Entry.
